System requirements
SnapGrid Window Manager is a native macOS app with a minimal footprint.
macOS version
macOS 13 Ventura or later. Works on Apple Silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs.
Accessibility permission
Required once during setup so SnapGrid Window Manager can move and resize windows. Granted in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
Storage
Under 10 MB installed. SnapGrid Window Manager runs from the menu bar and has no background services or cloud components.

Download and open the disk image
Click the download button above, open the .dmg file, and drag SnapGrid Window Manager into your Applications folder.

Grant Accessibility permission
Launch SnapGrid Window Manager from Applications. macOS will prompt you for Accessibility access — click Open System Settings and enable SnapGrid Window Manager in the list.

Pick a layout and snap
Click the SnapGrid Window Manager icon in your menu bar, choose a layout, then drag any app window into a zone. That is all.

Install notes
- SnapGrid Window Manager requires macOS Accessibility permission to move and resize windows. This is a one-time setup step in System Settings.
- Keep SnapGrid Window Manager in your Applications folder so macOS applies updates correctly.
- Enable Launch at login in SnapGrid Window Manager Settings after install so it starts automatically with your Mac.
- If windows stop snapping after a macOS update, revisit System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and confirm SnapGrid Window Manager is still enabled.
Uninstalling
To remove SnapGrid Window Manager, quit the app from the menu bar, then drag SnapGrid.app from Applications to the Trash. Any saved layouts and preferences stored on your Mac will be removed as well.
